CLASS PROGRESSION
In our efforts to keep our classes small enough to benefit all those training in those classes, the following change has been recently approved by the Board.
- Once a dog has developed the skills to move beyond the Manners and More Level I class and into the Manners and More Level II class, there should not be a reason for them to be attending both of these classes. Thus, once a dog has "graduated" from Manners and More Level I and has started attending Manners and More Level II, they can no longer attend Manners and More Level I.
- If a dog has their CD, that dog cannot attend Manners and More II or Intro to Competition Obedience
- Dogs who are being trained at the level of Open may no longer attend the Intro to Competition class.
- A dog may not attend BOTH Introduction to Competition and Novice - it is to be one or the other.
- A dog may not attend BOTH the Utility class and the Introduction to Open/Utility class.
- A dog may not attend BOTH Introduction to Competition and Introduction to Open/Utility.
- If you are attending the UDX class, you may not attend Open or Utility with the same dog.
KENNEL COUGH
To keep the risk as low as possible for all the dogs that come into the building at SDTC the following recommendations are offered. This applies to members and to non-members taking paid classes.
- Any dog affected by bordetella (kennel cough) or any other contagious respiratory illness must not be brought into the building for two weeks after they stop coughing. Also, please inform the Training Director (Training@SuburbanDogTraining.com) that your dog is ill.
- Any dogs living in the same household as affected dogs but not showing symptoms may not be brought into the building until two weeks after the affected dog stops coughing.
- In the event of an outbreak other than one or two isolated incidences, the building will be closed for a minimum of one week for cleaning and disinfecting.
CRATE USAGE
The common crates in the building may be used by all members. However, members must clean a crate each time they use it. Clorox wipes are available to wipe out the inside of the crate. You may alternatively spray with Lysol and wipe out with paper towels. Yes, you will have to crawl into the crate to adequately clean it.
NOTE: During the Covid pandemic, the training policy is one handler-one dog, so the use of crates is not necessary.
